Last will and testament

Dear World,

I'm about to embark into the wilderness of Alamo, NV, with five little boys for the annual Father/Son-barely-sleep-freeze-your-booty-off-get-filthy-see-how-many-times-you-can-fall-into-the-water camp out. My wife on the other hand will go out to dinner with her mom and the perfect, angel baby, sleep in a nice comfy bed and stay oh so very clean.

If for some reason I don't return. Or I only return with say 3-4 of the little ones, please have mercy on me. Send out a rescue party or send me to the chair in a speedy fashion. Because I hear that being left out in the wilderness to rot or sitting on death row is a lot like, well...Fathers and Sons.

Somebody's Tired

You'd think with six kids, that falling asleep at the dinner table would be an almost daily occurence. It's not like they get any peace when the five boys pile into the barracks for a little shut eye. Surprisingly, the kids rarely doze off at the table. Oh but when they do... I can't help it. Dats funny!

Easter Pics

We took some Easter photos in our Sunday best last week since we have General Conference this week. Aiden took the picture of Kim and me. Not too shabby.

Happy Birthday Little Missy!

One year ago, I had just finished a SNWA board meeting and was in an internal coordination meeting telling my coworkers that in a short while, I might be taking Kim to the hospital to have a baby. It seems like light years ago and yet just yesterday. As we welcomed little Brooke, our sixth child, into the world, we had no idea how the home dynamics would change. Happy Birthday Broccoli!

My gals

I love these two little ladies.

Heck's Angels

Not long ago, Jace was riding his training-wheeled bike with Kim and his brothers. When they got back, he asked me to take the training wheels off. I gave Kim a skeptical look, but she said that his wheels were barely touching. As soon as I got the wheels off, Jace jumped on, rode down the driveway and turned down the sidewalk. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. (Hyperbole used on purpose here.)

This new found freedom meant that he needed a new bike (the wheels on his other one were falling apart). The picture above shows him on his stylin' Jeep bike. He loves to go riding with his brothers. In fact, last week we went on an entire family bike ride with Cooper and Brooke riding in the trailer behind me. We rode four miles, which I thought was pretty good for those little legs of theirs.

The bike riding excitement also lead to me introducing the boys to the joy of putting cards in the spokes. A few of the neighbor kids have also come by to have me "pimp" their rides as well. They've got their own little bike gang going on as they put-put through the cul de sac. So far they haven't grown tired of the drone, but we'll see how long that lasts.

Here's the boys tearing it up:

He-man Concrete Power

By Las Vegas' standards, we've had a lot of rain the last few weeks. That means my poor mother-in-law (Backyard Grandma) has had to wade through the mud and dirt to get to her garage. Thanks to my brother, Bryan, we finally knocked out a path of concrete pavers. Mixing all that colored concrete and pouring it all just about killed my hamstrings, but I'm glad to have that mostly finished. I say mostly, because we want to pour a few more.

Here's some close up shots. We put leaves into pavers to make them look a little more interesting. We were going for the Jurassic Park-fossil look, but I couldn't find any prehistoric mosquitos to use.

I owe my brothers, big time for all the help they've given me with my projects. Right now, I've been paying back with pool usage, but I know that is only going to get me so far.

Lazy hammock day

If you don't have a hammock, I highly recommend you getting one. It makes for some great relaxing times - just ask Grey Grey.
