Backyardigrandma!

OK, so I realize that we haven't posted anything in months. It has just been one of those times. But, I'm happy to declare that the casita is done and Far Grandma is now Backyard Grandma. Kim's mom, Dian, moved in about a week ago, and we have spent every second working on moving, fixing stuff, etc. Kim is so excited that she and I actually were able to fix her phone lines (since they didn't work after the phone company came and connected us at the street.)

Our next big project has been setting up the kids' playstructure. I took a couple days off work to try and whittle down the honey do list. We have spent two full days on that swing set and it is still not finished. Is that incredible. I think I need to pay closer attention to the "pay $100 for installation" advertisements that they put on those things. Money well spent I would say.

The last and most incredible thing - we finally have internet at home, so you might see more regular posts from Kim now. I say might, because if I were you, I wouldn't hold your breath. You do know that we have five little boys right? Of course you do, their pictures are to the right!

Happy Birthday to the Grey!

Greyson was our child that the doctor didn't make it to deliver. Kim and the nurse handled it all by themselves (with a little encouragement from Dad). We wish our very special little 5-year-old a wonderful birthday year! We love our sweet, patient and sometimes pokey Grey Grey! We celebrated mostly on Sunday with my family. On Wednesday, he got some very special pancakes that spelled out his name. He also had his Far Grandma, soon to be Backyard Grandma there to visit as well. It was pretty much a low key birthday for a low key kind of kid!

Go Cougars, Part Deux

So my sister-in-law, Kim, sent us this photo of the actual cat. Her cousin took it of the big guy in her backyard! YIKES!

Go Cougars!?!

Having attended the Y, you could say that Kim and I are Cougar fans...Except in the case when they might eat your children! Yesterday the police and animal control caught a cougar a couple of blocks from my house! I couldn't believe it. I mean it is not like we live in the mountains or anything. This cat had to travel far. Unfortunately it had to be euthanized after they caught him. Anyway, here's a link to the story if you are interested. And, by the way, that's not a photo I took. He looks way too hungry for me to even go near him!

Happy Birthday Aiden!

We started today off with wishing our firstborn, Aiden, a very happy birthday. Seven years ago today, the first of the Bishop boys joined our family. We're so very grateful for our smart and caring little guy. He was the best Christmas present we could have hoped for! The crazy Christmas Eve stuff will come later. More on that next time.

A Visit with Santa

We have a great guy at work that makes it possible for our kids to have a visit with Santa. It makes it so that we don't have to haul the kids to the mall or anything. Each year our employee rec committee sponsors it and it is so great! Here's the little ones with Santa's helper.
